The classic Sirimon to Chogoria route starts with a transfer from Nairobi to Nanyuki and the Sirimon gate. Trek through montane forest and moorland to Shipton Camp, make an early summit attempt on Point Lenana at 4,985 metres, then descend through the Gorges Valley to Mount Kenya Bandas and Chogoria. The package includes shared transport, park fees, mountain meals, camp accommodation, guides and porters.

Nairobi to Old Moses Camp

Drive to Nanyuki and Sirimon Park Gate, have lunch and trek through forest and moorland to Old Moses Camp at about 3,300 metres.

Activities: 9 km trek, 3 to 4 hours and 680 m ascent

Stay: Old Moses Camp

Meals: Lunch and dinner

Altitude: 3,300 m

Old Moses to Shipton Camp

Trek through Ontulili and Liki North river country toward Mackinder Valley and Shipton Camp.

Activities: 14 km trek, about 7 hours and 900 m ascent

Stay: Shipton Camp

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Altitude: 4,200 m

Shipton to Point Lenana and Mount Kenya Bandas

Start around 03:00 for Point Lenana sunrise, descend via Chogoria, pass Minto hut and Gorges Valley before reaching the bandas.

Activities: 29 km, 11 to 12 hours, 785 m ascent and 2,085 m descent

Stay: Mount Kenya Bandas

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Altitude: 4,985 m summit

Mount Kenya Bandas to Nairobi

Take a short trek to the vehicle, drive to Chogoria town and continue to Nairobi.

Activities: Short trek and return transfer

Stay: None

Meals: Breakfast and lunch
